Now I leave a pan of water down for them, keep it filled and I've not had any problems for years. It's become quite the watering hole for them and some of the birds prefer the ones on the ground too. Good luck. :-DKrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17822528453563683772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1947997585334958395.post-33067585004818407702010-09-20T16:43:59.334-04:002010-09-20T16:43:59.334-04:00Sorry about the squirrels. Who would have thought. We have squirrels on our streets by the hundreds. Black and grey ones. The black ones came from Canada. I get this image of them hopping the ferries or hitchhiking the bridges. But never have I seen them eat or steal my tomatoes.Must be a cultural thing for squirrels. Ha, Ha. So when I go to grab the seemingly ripe tomato, I grab a pile of goo. Maybe it's because of the bountiful walnuts on the trees next door. My big problem is volunteer walnut trees everywhere, because they bury the nuts in my yard and garden.Annie*s Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04772261218172078099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1947997585334958395.post-39877065814102704042010-09-19T23:43:36.748-04:002010-09-19T23:43:36.748-04:00I just Googled 'squirrels eating tomatoes'...I just Googled 'squirrels eating tomatoes', it is great, you need to go there and read the comments people have left, I didn't have time to read all but I think it will help. I just showed my husband your post and had to ask him to make sure that I wasn't mistaken about ours never doing this. It seems so insulting for them to mock you that way by leaving it so you are sure to see it...very strange indeed. I feel bad for you about this and really can't think of what you might do to stop them. Hmm.Sherri B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03956294100834139745noreply@blogger.com
