I was all excited for you in finding a use for them. I wonder if you need a fourth side for them. Which is a good thing, Like Jezibels says, any chemical found in the wood can leach into the compost. If you get a really hot compost, the bacteria may break them down, but in any case, the compost should not be used on food crops. So a word to the wise, if you are using re-purposed wood for a compost bin, make sure it is not treated lumber.<br />Also, I know I' just repeating what others have already said but, your grocery store doesn't have pectin? I've only been to Staten Island once, but there were all those little shops along that street leading up from the ferry, doesn't any of them have pectin?Dahlia ChanTanghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09761052647377223709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1947997585334958395.post-34734963538454521312010-11-06T09:57:42.285-04:002010-11-06T09:57:42.285-04:00Great idea...I love reusing things!Great idea...I love reusing things!Putting Up With The Turnbullshttp://www.puttingupwiththeturnbulls.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1947997585334958395.post-73351974713067288302010-11-06T09:30:54.101-04:002010-11-06T09:30:54.101-04:00This is a great idea, we have extra pallets that c...This is a great idea, we have extra pallets that come with the bags of wood pelets we buy...perhaps I should put them to good use.Mr. H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04576034751522467377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1947997585334958395.post-82900312231904646052010-11-05T23:37:52.304-04:002010-11-05T23:37:52.304-04:00Watch out using pallets, unless you are certain wh...Watch out using pallets, unless you are certain what they were used for in their previous life.
