I'm Running Out of Room

I am totally running out of room on my seed table. It used to look like this, with only a few trays of sowed seeds.  Two weeks ago, it looked like this.
Today, it looks like this!!  As you can see, I'm almost out of room.  I really need to setup another seed table somewhere in the house.  I have no idea where.  Maybe I can take over my dining room table with seeds.  Hahaha.  I've sowed most of my tomatoes, leeks, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, and okra.  None of my tomatoes have germinated yet.  I'm anxiously awaiting the first mater sprout.  Next up, I need to plant my peppers and eggplants.  I waited to sow these because they like warmer soil, and last year I started them too early and it stunted the plants growth some.  What are you sowing right now?

  2. Haha looks like you've been busy! I wa s having the same problem and I was going on vacation so I made sure to plant out the early seedlings so I'd only have the warm weather ones to fret over.

  3. It looks like you will soon be doing the seedling shuffle! I expanded my germinating area twice this year and my tables are still packed full! I think that the dining room table sounds like a good idea! If you have a basement, just hang a couple of regular shop lights up and set up down there. I do all of my germinating in the basement and all of my lights were given to me by neighbors...free is good!

  4. You're making good use of those yogurt cups! Use the winter sowing technique and plant some things outside where you have more space.

  5. Your table looks like my kitchen at the old house. I'm lucky to have a basement at this house, so it's set up with shelves and lights and I go crazy starting plants down there (my secret basement plant lab). Things is, the more room I have, the more plants I sow. LOL Yours are doing well. Now all we need this year is -- SPRING! Where is it??

  7. I love all the repurposed containers you are using, they should make excellent homes for your seedlings.:)

  9. Yes you are!

We have squash and melons planted in pots. Everything has sprouted. Should be putting them in the ground this or next weekend.

  11. this is how winter sowing comes in useful. i am on year 2, with good results. it is good for lazy people (me) because there is NO hardening off, including tomatoes (!!!)

  12. I have the same lack-of-space problem as you! So far, I've stayed away from the kitchen table, but boy, is that space tempting.
