Done, Done and Done

After a week of hard work, we are finally finished with putting up the picket fencing for the garden. So much work, but sooo worth it. We are so happy with the results, and can't wait to start tilling the soil so we can plant the seedlings. Here is a photo of installing the gate.
Testing out that the gate works.

Finished product!

Here is a photo of our cucumber and zucchini plants.

And this is broccoli growing! By next week, we should be able to plant everything. Hooray!

Fence Paneling Installed

We've been working really hard out in the garden. The other day we put up some of the picket fence paneling. It's a lot of work, and takes a long time, but it's so worth it! More photos to come!

Removing the sod and tilling the dirt

Its been raining this week, but this has not stopped us from working on the garden. Kyle's dad helped us A LOT! To remove the sod, we rented a large roto-tiller and tilled the soil. We are planning to install a picket fence, and have dug up holes in the ground for the posts. His dad taught us how to dig holes, and level the posts. Digging the holes for the posts was an all day process. We dug holes 2 feet deep, put the post in, and then added cement. Now we are ready to add the pickets for the fencing. And then finally start planting the seedlings. More photos to come!
