Back in August, Dave over at The Home Garden was having a giveaway and I was the lucky winner. I meant to post about this earlier, but life got in the way. So here is the awesome giveaway package that arrived in September! There is a weed killer, a fungicide, an insect repellent and insect killer!! Woohoo! I love the fact that these products are 100% organic, and best of all, I tried the weed killer and it works! I also tried the insect killer on all the ants that have been getting into the porch and it works like a charm. The ants were annihilated and the spray is completely non-toxic. We are adamant about having an organic garden, so what a nice complement to have organic pesticides! How awesome to know that there are no toxic or harmful chemicals in the products and that there is only all natural ingredients! Thanks again Dave for hosting this fantastic giveaway! I can't wait until next summer to try out the insect repellent! We have a ton of mosquitos in our backyard so this is going to definitely come in handy!
We haven't used pesticides in years and I am so glad we decided on that..Do you know about vinegar being an unbelievable weed killer? But be careful as it will kill anything around it too...Your new products sound great, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they are working out for you! I've been curious about trying the weed killer, glad to hear it works great!
ReplyDeleteWow, I need some of that pesticide. It seems I've been fighting ants all season. By the way, about the PVC frame, I think you guys would want to use chicken wire the plastic fence I used wouldn't be squirrel proof.
ReplyDeleteCool! Great win, glad the products are working.
ReplyDeleteI was curious about the weed killer too. Nice to have a nonpoisonous alternative.
ReplyDeleteDon't mean to be a wet blanket on your parade, but just because the ingredients are natural does not mean that they are not harmful or not poisonous. The products are still killing plants and insects. Consider the comment on vinegar, it kills everything it touches. I've watched earthworms move out of the soil where I tried applying it on dandelions. Care should still be taken when using them.
ReplyDeleteWow. I do not use any insecticides in my garden and was surprised at Patty's observation. I never thought about these home ingredients being harmful, but it makes perfect sense. My garden has the insects taking care of each other. Cornell Cooperative Extension recommends Integrated Pest Management, and I try to follow this in my garden. Seeing the earthworms leave the soil would bother me quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteHI, I never tried this brand, there is no specific reason but thinking to use it now seems good. Thanks for the information about this product.
