My Blooming Peach

My peach tree is blooming! 2 1/2 weeks earlier than last year.
I don't know if any of these blooms will get pollinated though.  This week has been on the chillier side at around 50F.  Too cold for honeybees to be visiting the garden.  Everything in the area is in bloom much earlier than expected because of the warm weather we had the last few weeks.  However, it's cold again.  I'll cross my fingers that we actually get some peaches this year.  Even better, some that we can eat, unlike last year's fiasco. Or the year before that was this issue.  For two years straight, I have yet to eat a peach from this tree.  Hopefully this year will be the lucky one!

  1. Looks like you may have a good harvest!

  2. Our orchard is WAY ahead of schedule too and some pear trees have bloomed. we had a frost two nights ago so I am hoping they pull through.

  3. I'll cross my fingers for you.Perhaps there will be a peach or two for you this year.

  4. I hope you get some peaches. We have the same problem with the pear trees blooming before there are bees to pollinate. This year I'm trying mason bees. I've got a little house and the bees are in cocoons in the fridge waiting for the pear tree to bloom.

  5. I planted my peach tree this year and I hope we can have some fruit in a couple of years. Hopefully you will get a peach or two this year.

  6. I think the freeze on Monday night may have damaged the blooms on my Asian pear.

We love to hear from you. Thanks for leaving a comment!
