I must say, sometimes the postal service is really impressive! On the day we received 19 inches of snow, we got mail! They really take their creed seriously, "And neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged, will stay us from the swift completion of our appointed rounds. Ever." That day, amongst mounds of snow, my doorbell rang, and the postman gave me a package. The Amaryllis bulbs that I ordered from White Flower Farm had arrived. They are impressive bulbs! I can't wait to plant them.
Those are nice healthy looking bulbs. I've never ordered from them, but may look into it. The bulbs in stores always look "soft" and not so nice.
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge bulb? Will you share with us what you plant it in? Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI bought it on sale, if you're interested. http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com/half-off-holiday-specials.html Prices are great compared to what they usually go far on the website.
ReplyDeleteSo you got a touch of summer in the mail too : ) The bulb looks so healthy-can't wait to see how beautiful the flower is.
ReplyDeleteWhite Flower Farm has very good merchandize. They used to have the best prices until they were bought out. I purchased hundreds of daffodil bulbs from them when I moved to the farm and they sent me a couple hundred extra!!
ReplyDeleteThat bulb is huge! I hope it produces a lot of blooms! What a gift with all the snow you've gotten.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice looking bulb! I didn't give our mailman anything for Christmas this year like I have in the past. I keep thinking I'm going to yet. One year, I bought a U.S. mail cup from ebay and put tea bags, hot chocolate and such in it. Other years, some chocolate candy, the tea bags and such. I appreciate the dedication of our mail carrier, too.
ReplyDeleteoh, best of luck to you and your flowers:)
ReplyDeleteWow, hope it produces blooms that are as impressive as the bulb! When the time comes, pictures please :)
ReplyDeleteAnd hats off to our mail carriers!
I'm impressive with your postman too - when we had 21 inches of snow in early December we didn't get any post for 8 days as it was all stuck in deleivery depots all round the country!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading your blog too, so thanks for popping in to see me so that I could find you! :)
Biggie bulb that one. Nice to have parcel arriving when you stuck indoors. Feel connected to the outside world.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I started a post and my computer freaked out and it never went through. The mailman sure deserves his paycheck this week. 19 inches of snow? Crazy! I'm glad you got your package though. What a gigantic bulb! LOL! I can't wait to see what it looks like all grown up! =0)
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Glad you are pleased.
ReplyDeleteI love White Flower Farm! Great quality plants. :) I'm curious, where are you going to plant them? I associate them with Christmas so much now I don't even know what their favorite growing conditions are...
