Leaving New Paltz to return home, we took a different way home since we had to run errands. We crossed the FDR Mid-Hudson Bridge which goes over the Hudson River and connects Poughkeepsie to Highland NY. My husband and I love this bridge, we think it's one of the prettiest in the area.
When we were done with our errands, we headed home and had to cross the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. It's not a pretty bridge because it's not a suspension bridge like Mid-Hudson, but it has wonderful views.
I love seeing the scenery from where you live. My dad grew up in Brooklyn and I've only been to NYC once so it's fun to see what it looks like there aside from the usual pictures of landmarks that you see. That bridge is pretty.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year! I like the tilted perspective in your first image of the bridge. It adds an extra bit of drama to the shot. Looks like you had great fun with your nieces making the gingerbread house.
ReplyDeleteThat suspension bridge is very pretty! Growing up farther north, we always crossed the Hudson on the Rip Van Winkle bridge. Not a favorite since it's so narrow and SO high!
ReplyDeleteI'm not fussed about the views, but I am liking that bridge!I sometimes think that engineering can rival much of what nature gives us!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing bridge, I have never been across anything like that myself. I just saw your previous post and love the book you recieved on preserving...you are going to have so much fun with it. It's a wonderful book.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any big ones like that aroud here.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your fun photos. We don't have big bridges like that, but have a few small ones for creeks and such. Our 3 year old grandson is into Thomas the Tank Engine, and his trains crash and fall off of bridges often. Today, as we were driving to my parents' house, he said something about us not falling off of the bridge a couple times. I pointed out that fact to him, that his trains fall off of bridges more than real trains and cars do. LOL
