Making Plant Markers, Mr. Brown Thumb Style

A few weeks back, I was twittering on #seedchat and I asked the group of experienced gardeners where they bought plant markers, and Mr. Brown Thumb wisely told me to recycle plastic milk jugs. Genius! If you don't follow his blog, you should!  I always find myself referring to his blog for seed saving information, gardening, and everything in between. Check out his tutorial on how to turn your milk jugs into plant markers. After the twitter #seedchat, I started collecting my milk jugs, rinse them out good or it'll smell like spoiled milk when you make these.
Just like Mr. Brown Thumb, I used one of the plant markers I already had to trace them on the jug.
Cut them all out, and tada!  A 1/2 gallon jug of milk made me 16 plastic markers!  I love this project, not only is it a great way to recycle, I also didn't spend a penny on new plant markers.  Thanks to Mr. Brown Thumb for such an awesome tip!!

  1. That is a smart tip. I like to recycle and plant markers are so expensive that it is good, if you can make your own!
