My Seed Box is Overflowing

It's funny how a year ago, we just started gardening. Fast forward to now, and I'm beginning to think that I have an addiction problem. I am totally addicted to collecting seeds!  Haha.  Gardening has become a total and complete obsession.  I think about it every day.  What will we grow next.  How's the seedlings doing.  What will the garden produce.  Here's a peek inside my seed box.  I discovered that these are my trusty tools that I can't live without.  They are the following:
1. Black Sharpie Marker
2. Washable Glue
3. Tape
4. Little containers to hold seeds in
5. Plant tags
6. Ruler, especially the measuring tape
7. Pad of paper
8. Seeds, lots and lots of seeds.

What are things you keep in your seed box that you can't live without?

  1. LOL, and so it begins! I have about 7 or 8 boxes that size, all full of seeds!

  2. As far as additions go, gardening is not a bad addiction to have. I still can't resist checking out a seed rack when I am in a store.

  3. I have only seeds in my seed container, which is a large plastic box with a lid, and resides in a corner of my refrigerator. I do have another shoe box sized box with much the same as you have, plus a bunch of tiny envelopes for seed gathering/exchanging and a glue stick for sealing the envelopes tight. It also has a roll of toilet tissue for making seed mats, a box of toothpicks for picking up tiny seeds, a small paper plate to put the seeds on when I'm making seed mats, and a yellow Sharpie that doesn't leave black dots on my gold colored kitchen counter ;-)

  4. Looks like my box! I also have to have a sharpie, thermometer, scissors, twine and next to it is always my garden notebook.

  5. I feel the same way! This will only be our third year gardening(technically second since last year we moved and didnt have anything except tomatoes), and I already feel like I have a little bit of a problem. I have a grocery bag full of seeds. I should organize them and put them in a box like yours! I CANNOT live without my pencil and my sharpee marker! I must have those! I am always losing my writing utensils, but my pencil and marker remain. My trusty friends :)

  7. We have similar overflowing boxes :) I keep a pen, tiny Ziplocs and little pieces of paper to organize all of the seeds. All my little seed packets are everywhere - it's chaos! But it's all I can do. :) I use Kleenex boxes that I tear the tops off, and label each box with the type of seed. Like, need stratification, need soaking, need nicking, annuals, perennials, vegetables. Lots of boxes :)

  8. well, I don't have JUST a garden box, lol I have a tall wooden chest of drawers, tools and gloves in one drawer, zip ties and twine, etc, etc. But I know what you're talking about, my SEED box...along w/all the stuff mentioned, I can't live without my electronic soil tester that I splurged on last year! LOVE that baby!!

  9. Gardening is the BEST hobby on earth! Seeds are relatively cheap-and you get away with it because it produces something usable!
