It's the time of year... to save seeds. Here I am saving marigolds. By far, one of the easiest seeds to save. I grew a lot of marigolds this year, I'm saving these seeds to put into Christmas cards this year. I thought that could be a fun idea. What seeds are you saving?
I've saved three varieties of tomato seeds, some Fortex pole beans, and various colors of Four O'clocks...I don't know why, as they will self sow like weeds. I may want to pull the volunteers and plant by color, so that's how I'm saving the seeds, by colors. I'm also letting some lettuce go to seed, hoping it will self sow and volunteer in the spring. I must get my marigolds saved soon, a variety I save each year.
ReplyDeleteHi! I saved a bunch of seeds this year, including; Stella D'Oro (i know, everybody hates them but me), Leopard Lily, Lupines, Coreopsis, Cilantro/Coriander, Cleome, and Bachelor Buttons.
ReplyDeleteAh that's a lovely idea to give people seeds with their Christmas cards!
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of putting a packet of seeds into a Christmas card. I think we will do that this year...how neat.:)
ReplyDeletethat's a great idea to include your seeds in your holiday cards! i am way overdue on the mailing out of some of my seed packets. by the time i actually get them in the mail, it will probably be the holidays so i may piggyback on your concept :)
ReplyDeleteI love marigold seeds - they're just so cool looking. I've always thought about adding seeds to homemade paper to use for holiday cards.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a neat idea!
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm doing exactly the same thing!
