More Seeds!

I popped into Whole Foods the other day to buy the home brew kit, and I noticed they had a stand selling Botanical Interests seeds!  How cool!  I really like their seeds, so it's nice to know I can buy them locally and not have to pay for the shipping.  What I like about this company is that they are family owned business, and they do NOT sell GMO seeds.  On their website they state, "we enthusiastically signed the SAFE SEED PLEDGE: We do not knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds or plants."  I try to only support seed companies that deal with only non-GMO seeds.
Even though my seed box is completely overflowing, I decided to buy their Alfalfa Sprout seeds and Easter Egg Blend Radishes.   What's so cool about their seed packaging is that they have really nice drawings of the product and on the inside of the packaging, there are usually some additional information about the item, like recipes, and growing methods.  I can't wait to try to grow the Alfalfa!  Yum.

  1. We are doing the same thing this year in looking for 'the pledge' before we even start looking through the catalog. No pledge, no order from us!

  2. I am always seduced by their package. Everything I would put into a journal or an herbal is on that package....except that their drawings are beautiful; mine belong under a magnet on my mom's refrigerator (45 years ago)

  3. Those packages are too cute! And, what a great idea for them to include recipes and uses for the veggies. It's so nice to support family owned businesses that really care and deliver a great product!

  4. They are a good company, nice that you have them locally to satisfy that "impulse" to buy at the store with no guilt!

  6. I wish I could buy them locally, their packets are works of art. I'd be tempted to make a collage of them to hang on my kitchen wall.

  7. Those seed packets are so cute. Not many seed companies in Australia sell seed packets with pictures. Mostly are brown packet with information on how to grow them.

  9. I've gotten some of their seeds locally, too. They seem to grow well. I agree with you, their packages are pretty.

Let us know if the alfalfa seeds sprout well. I've had trouble with them spoiling before they are ready to eat. When my kids were young, over 20 years ago, I never used to have that trouble.
